Quick Guide: Room Management

Overview

The Room Management system allows you to view all existing rooms, create new rooms, and edit existing ones. This guide covers all available functions.

Main View - Room List

The main view displays a table of all rooms with the following information:

  • Room Name
  • Room Type
  • Number of Seats
  • Description
  • Cylinder Lock
  • UZH Card Types
  • Key Types

Creating a New Room

Step 1: Open Form

Click the Plus button in the main view to open the new room form.

Step 2: Fill Required Fields

  • Room name (required): Enter a unique room identifier

Step 3: Fill Optional Fields

  • Seat number: Enter available seating capacity
  • Description: Add additional room information

Step 4: Assign Room Type

  • Select appropriate Room type from dropdown
  • Create new room type: If needed type is not available:
    1. Click "Edit room type list"
    2. Create new room type in RoomType group

Step 5: Assign Cylinder Lock

  • Select appropriate Cylinder lock from dropdown
  • Create new cylinder lock: If needed lock is missing:
    1. Click Edit button next to dropdown
    2. Create new cylinder lock

 

Step 6: Save

Click Save to create the new room.

Editing Existing Rooms

Access Edit View

Click the pencil button next to the desired room in the main view.

Available Edit Options

Basic Data

  • Modify room name
  • Update seat number
  • Edit description
  • Change room type
  • Reassign cylinder lock

Card Access Management

In "Cards to this room" section:

  • Add new card types for room access
  • Edit existing card assignments
  • Set validity periods (Start and End dates)

Key Management

In "Keys to this room" section:

  • Assign physical keys to the room
  • Manage key designations
  • Set key validity periods
